“It went on easy for me, even though I’ve never done anything like that before and ended up having tricky baseboards and an annoyingly shaped stair spindle. I had to drill a new hole in the latching mechanism that the gate locks into, as the top hole poked above the base of the stair spindle I was drilling it into, still works great. I installed it at the top of my stairs and it’s been great so far.”
“I installed this gate at the top of my stairs to corral my dogs. The opening I was working with was 30 inches wide. Installation was simple. I wanted to give my cats free access (and have no youngsters in my house) so I removed the upright post closest to the hinge. To do so, I used a hacksaw to cut through the post then twisted out each end. If you do this on yours, be warned that the posts are inserted with a dowel and brad nail.”
