Plush fabric covers a compact cry detector and sound module tucked inside this stuffed rabbit. A press to the tummy starts changing light hues and melodies, while motion turns on the listening ears. Ingenuity added a fabric loop near the paws to hold a pacifier in place.

Prices are what the catalogue last saw and move without warning. The number on the retailer page is the one that counts.

Reading the piece

  • Cry sensor module Movement wakes the microphone in the ears so it listens for distress. Once it detects crying, the internal box plays tunes and heartbeat rhythms to help a fussy infant settle.
  • Tummy light and sound A press to the belly turns on color changes and music. Parents can switch the sound between low and high volume settings or turn the speaker off entirely when quiet is needed.
  • Attached pacifier loop A fabric loop on the body holds a standard pacifier so it does not drop under furniture. It gives older babies something familiar to hold alongside the plush fur.
  • Battery compartment Standard AAA batteries power the lights and audio components hidden behind the rear closure. The compact size travels easily from the living room floor to the back of the car.

Worth a second look

  • Nobody has rated this one on the retailer listing yet, so there is no score on this card and none in the picker either.
  • Needs three AAA batteries. Batteries are rarely in the box, and a motor that has to be fed is the part people forget when they compare it to a bouncer that costs nothing to run.
  • Rated across three of the four stages here, which is why it costs what it costs and why it is worth checking the folded size before buying.
